An Aviation Medical Examination is a comprehensive assessment to determine whether a pilor or air traffic controller is medically fit to fly or control air traffic. It is required by law to maintain aviation licenses. 

  • 2 pieces of ID
  • Required assistive devices (ex. Glasses, Hearing aids)
  • Medical Reports related to any signficant conditions
  • Current Aviation Medical Documentation

Medical examination varies based on your age and class of medical certificate you hold. They are required annually, biannually, or every 5 years. 

Once you book your Aviation Medical Examination, you will be emailed an ECG requisition. You can schedule an appointment or bring the ECG requisition to Dynacare or LifeLabs to get your ECG done. Please bring the report with you to your medical exam. It is best to get the ECG done 10 days or more before your appointment so that your Aviation Medicine Doctor will have the results for your appointment. 

 

The exam includes vision testing, hearing testing, a urinalysis, blood pressure check, and a history and physical exam.
